Course Description
This 5 day (40 hour) preparatory course provides participants with all of the information necessary to take and pass the PMP® Exam! The course covers all nine knowledge areas of project management, as contained in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide 4th Edition, in addition to test taking techniques applicants need to know. The PMBOK® Guide, published by the Project Management Institute (PMI®), is provided as part of the course and is the basis for PMI’s 200-question (4 hour) certification exam. This multi day curriculum is designed to fulfill PMI’s 35 hour training requirement for applicants to be eligible to sit for the exam.
Course Objectives:
- Understand how to apply for the PMP® Exam (eligibility requirements, including experience and education are covered in class)
- Know how to study and prepare for the PM® Exam
- Understand the tips and tricks involved in taking standardized tests using multiple choice questions
- Utilize study strategies and materials provided to prepare for the exam
- Understand the requirements for maintaining their PMP® Credential, once it is obtained
Course Audience:
Project managers, team members and project management practitioners with experience working in a project environment. Those who wish to take and pass PMI’s PMP Certification Exam will find this course invaluable.
Course PreRequisites:
Participants must have a minimum of 3 years experience leading and directing project work (with a Bachelor’s degree or higher education) in order to sit for the PMP® Exam. Also, applicants will be required to show 35 hours of project management training/education in order to apply to take the PMP® Exam. This course satisfies the 35 hour education requirement.
